Clubs to raise salary cap

13 April 2012

English rugby's top clubs are set to raise their salary cap above £2 million next season in a bid to keep their leading players.

The Zurich Premiership outfits are getting increasingly concerned about the large salaries being offered by French and Welsh clubs where salary caps are not in place.

English teams are operating a £1.8m limit for the third successive season.
