Phil Hughes ready for Royals appointment

22 May 2012

Axed Aussie opener Phil Hughes finally links up with Worcestershire this week and is set to make his debut in Sunday’s CB40 clash with former county Middlesex.

Hughes had agreed to join the Royals for the entire campaign but was called into a Cricket Australia training camp.

Worcestershire director Steve Rhodes said: “He is desperate to do well and force his way back into the Australia team.”
